Message Here was the deal though.. The car is owned by someone in Japan. He did intake, exhaust, ECU, UD pulley, flywheel, clutch, driveshaft, extrude honed upper/lower plenum, camshafts (intake and exhaust), block was punched out to 3.2L AND pistons were replaced with custom made 12.5:1 comp ratio. Most of the power comes from the comp ratio, but youre not gonna be able to run that on american pump gas.
Tons of dyno tuning and tons of time and money.

I imagine that if you were to do the intake, exhaust, ECU, pulleys, camshafts, lightweight flywheel, aluminum driveshaft and play around with the ignition timing and run good octane boosted fuel, you could get somewhere near that magical 100HP per litre mark and most of these items aren't too difficult to do - exception: camshafts.

I'd like to see how much power someone could squeeze out of an NA with all of the perf upgrades. I haven't seen one yet although the stillen catalog shows what kind of HP you will get out of their "infamous" upgrade line (BTW: which is based on their sources of "infinite wisdom" cough cough hack gasp!)

It sounds like you got the same rap as I do, although my Z has a lot more miles on it than yours! Truly amazing to see such low miles on a Z. :-) I want more power and pulling a motor and dropping in a TT engine isnt a bad idea - I'm just replacing an already tired NA motor with a brand new TT engine. But with 23K miles on your car, pulling the engine and putting in a TT would just be stupid. Beef it up with all the NA stuff - I bet it will be impressive as hell + no turbo lag. :-)

: Hi everyone!

It's been awhile since I last posted, but it's the same question: I want more power and performance out of my '95 NA (with 23K miles on it!) and I don't want the
inevitable longevity issues with the TT 300ZX (I've owned one), nor do I want that damned HICAS system (had problems with it in the '90 TT that I owned).

From what I've read, the addition of an intake, exhaust, chip, headers, and ported/ polished throttle bodies will put me at 290 HP at the flywheel. I'll add in the
performance clutch and performance flywheel, and add in suspension upgrades. I figure that all told (parts plus installation) this will cost me about $ 3,200.00

Is there anything else that I can do without sacrificing reliability and longevity of the car to boost performance (no, I don't want NOS) without costing me an arm
and a leg? Am I dreaming? Will the $ 3,200.00 that I spend give me the ~ 300 HP at the flywheel that I'm looking for?

Thanks for your help!
